• Elcon Power Ltd (EP) is founded:

• M.Sc. Hemmo Niemelä founded the company, the Elcon Power Ltd, after working 15 years on different positions at the electrical and electronics industry

• Basic principles for success were customer focused R&D and service, and concentrating on selected market applications

1998

• Strong R&D phase at Turku Science Park (Electro City)

• Attending the exhibition at Hannover (Hannover Messe) and first deliveries

1999

• Elcon moves to new facilities at Turku (trade and industry area of Mälikkälä)

• The development project of the power supply unit of LED signs and first delivery at the end of the year

2000

• Considerable export order to German automobile industry

2001

• Significant TEKES funding and other increase of capital

• Considerable increase of employees at R&D and sales

2002

• Import of power supplies begins

• New export deliveries to electro-chemical systems

2003

• New  projects for e.g. mobile phone and other production automation

• Next generation elevator power supply development

2004

• Elcon takes part in the project of developing ESA science satellite test system

2005

• First delivery of battery-backed power supply system

2006

• Elcon Solutions Oy (ES) is founded:

• New company concentrates on developing and marketing power supply systems for power plants, energy and IT industry

• Significant TEKES funding for R&D

• Introduction of marketing brand Elcon Group (EG)

2007

• Kari Frankenhaeuser is appointed as a new Managing Director of Elcon Solutions Oy and Tatu Laaksonen is appointed as a new Managin Director of Elcon Power Oy

• New partners e.g. Enatel, Ripenergy and CE+T

• First deliveries of Elcon Solutions to nuclear power station and diesel power plants

• New Elcon Power projects to transportation industry

2008

• Elcon Solutions quintuples and Elcon Power doubles its net sales

• Relocation to new facilities in Kaarina (near Turku)

• Remarkable individual project delivery of Elcon Solutions to power plant industry

• New partners e.g. Midtronics and Aros

 

 

2009

• Revenue of Elcon Solutions has risen in spite of the global economical situation

• Partnerships with OEZ and FSP Group

• First Midtronics Cellguard battery analyzing equipment has been installed
